Chatham-Kent Girls Hockey Association Complaints Procedure

At CKGHA, we are committed to maintaining a positive and respectful environment for all players, parents, and volunteers. If a concern arises, we encourage a calm and thoughtful approach.

Please wait 24 hours before taking action, then discuss the matter with your player to ensure it is something they wish to pursue.

If the concern remains, parents should contact their team’s Parent Liaison, who will work with the Coaching Staff to address the issue.

Unresolved matters will be referred to the Grievance Director for review and, if necessary, to the Board of Directors for further assessment.

For issues regarding allegations of abuse or harassment and detailed information regarding procedures to follow, please refer to Section 14: Respect & Zero Tolerance of the CKGHA Operating Rules & Policies.

As per the OWHA, Independent Safe Sport Complain Process, "The OWHA and Hockey Canada’s response to all allegations of maltreatment is through Hockey Canada’s Independent Third Party (ITP) complaint mechanism. We encourage all individuals experiencing or witnessing maltreatment (including advocates for other people) to communicate with the ITP. For more information on the ITP, including information for complaint submission, complainants, respondents, as well as policies and processes; please visit https://sportcomplaints.ca/ or click the logo, below."
