The Chatham-Kent Girls Hockey Association (CKGHA) is thrilled to announce the launch of its first-ever U7 Girls Hockey Program, offering young girls in the community an exciting opportunity to learn hockey in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.
Open to girls 4 through 6 (born in 2021, 2020 and 2019), this new program is designed with beginners in mind—no prior skating experience is required. The focus is on building confidence, fostering a love for the game, and developing fundamental skills through age-appropriate instruction and play.
Our goal is to create a space where girls can have fun, get active, and feel supported as they take their first strides on the ice. Whether it’s their first time lacing up skates or they’re already chasing pucks, this program welcomes all.
The U7 program emphasizes:
- Learning fundamental hockey skills such as skating, puck control, and teamwork
- Developing and refining basic motor patterns through movement and play
- Practicing cooperation and fair play in a team setting
- A focus on fun, confidence-building, and physical literacy
Led by supportive coaches, players will train in an engaging environment that prioritizes growth, participation, and enjoyment over competition. This is an ideal introduction to hockey for any child curious about the sport.
The cost for the season is $350.
