Return to Hockey
Submitted By Tim DeMaeyer on Tuesday, August 18, 2020
The Chatham Kent Girls Hockey Association is excited to see our players back on the ice beginning this weekend, Saturday August 22. Our return to hockey plan will evolve as guidelines from Hockey Canada, the OWHA and the CKPHU are released and additional ice is made available. Our primary concern and focus remains on the safety of our players, staff and parents.

For August, our programming adheres to guidelines and includes:

  • Only 2019/2020 CK Crush players and coaches may participate
  • A maximum of 20 participants (including players and coaches) on the ice as per the Municipality of Chatham-Kent
  • COVID screening is required
  • A form has been created to sign up for ice slots; every effort will be made to ensure ice allocation is fair. Please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d4ca8a929a1fdc25-august

  • An e-transfer of $20 to [email protected] is required 24 hours prior to ice time, for each ice time. Please be sure to include your daughters name  so we can post the funds properly. Cash will not be accepted at the arena.
  • On the day of your session:

o   No spitting on the ice or in the facility at anytime

    • Dressing rooms and washrooms closed (one washroom available inside for emergency use)
    • Parents or guardians will not be permitted in the facility unless a minor needs assistance to tie skates. In this case only one (1) parent or guardian will be granted temporary access, and must exit out the back as soon as they are done (NO spectators, only participants and coaching staffs allowed)
    • Parents are asked to park behind the arena when picking up their child
    • Arena has purchased a handheld disinfecting fog machine to help sanitize areas in between groups.
    • Hand sanitizer stations will be located at the entrance and exits of the arena.
