Latest Update for Return to play CKGHA
We have some hopeful news for all – we’ve met with OWHA and
they are ready to begin sanctioning activities for those associations,
municipalities and health units that are ready.
There are also lots of things for our board to figure out, BUT we are on
path forward!
Some of the initial details:
- We have put in our interest for weekly summer ice.
- Only registered CKGHA players and coaches from 2019-2020 season are allowed for any activities between now and August 31st
- Each participant must self-screen in accordance with current public heath guidelines before each training session
- Requirement for all staff, coaches, skaters, parents, members and volunteers receive education on new safety and hygiene protocols within the association/team.
- Pay before you skate, via e-transfer and per session
We have given the municipality an amount of interest in upcoming summer ice, that is dependent on numbers allowed, facility requirements, interest from our members and getting sanctioned from OWHA. The board is working diligently to get prepared. Continue to check the website often for further updates and share with your teammates.
As for 2020-2021 season – lots of things are up in the air and we expect further updates from OWHA. Registration will be different this year – as OWHA has implemented a new system. We will require all players, coaches, executive to create an account with a specific link we’ll set up for the new RAMP system. This system will allow online signing of required paperwork as well as online signing of team rosters. When registration opens, it will likely just be to capture interest with no payment until we sort out what the season will look like.
All this is still dependent on the municipality and the CK medical officer of health, Dr. David Colby and then also getting approval for any activities with OWHA.This article has been viewed 800 times.
