Dear Players and Parents,
I am privileged to be selected to coach the 2023-2024 Chatham-Kent Crush U18 AA team and would like to outline our team philosophy and provide some insight into what to expect in the coming season.
Coaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy at the U18 AA level is to provide an environment to enable athletes to have fun, and learn about being part of a team, while learning the fundamental skills needed to compete, succeed, and enjoy hockey at a high level for a long time. Once the team is made, I will gauge the type of team, players and skill level that is present, and fine-tune our season plan. That said, at its core it will focus on developing your daughter’s hockey skills, hockey IQ and training IQ, with the goal of preparing them to play at higher levels. With that will be the embedded values of team-first play, tenacity, professionalism, and kindness. In short, we are looking to develop great hockey players that are great people.
